Community Vision 2020

Imagine attending a school where there is no water for drinking or hand washing.

Too many children in Tanzania live that reality every day. Covid-19 has made access to clean water more vital than ever. Join Project Zawadi’s 2020 Community Vision Campaign to make access to clean water a reality at our four Model Schools in rural Tanzania.

Busore, Kabarange, Kurusanga and Sarawe Primary Schools each have a Model Schools Committee that is working with Project Zawadi to develop long-term site-specific water solutions that serve each school and surrounding community.

2020 Community Vision Goals:

• Over 10,000 students, teachers, and community members gain year-round access to clean water
• Children spend more time on homework and in class, especially young girls who often bear the burden of water collection
• Each school becomes a place of healthy, uninterrupted learning with clean water for drinking and hand washing
• Mobilize a Covid-19 Rapid Response in our rural community to address short-term needs such as hand washing stations, masks, and outreach and education.
